The efficient use of irrigation is more important than ever. It’s no longer enough to simply manage the irrigation or follow a generic schedule. Our Certified Water Managers (CWM) and the employees that work under them develop unique irrigation programs for each site that use water as efficiently as possible.
Conserving water has many positive benefits. As more and more water agencies tighten the restrictions on water usage and impose penalties or increased rates for excessive water usage, using unnecessary amounts of irrigation can become extremely costly. Our Certified Water Managers and Landscape Industry Certified Irrigation Technicians can assist you in finding additional ways to minimize your water use.

Regular System Checks

A thorough system check is conducted regularly to pinpoint troubled areas and maximize water efficiency. As time passes, piping and wiring can become warn or damaged, leading to problems within the irrigation system. Our thorough check ensures all valves are working properly, no leaks are present and irrigation schedules are correctly set. The entire irrigation system needs to be performing properly in order conserve the most about of water possible.

Proper Sprinkler Adjustment

We understand that not every property has a budget that allows upgrades. We can still work with you to maximize water usage.  Often times, it can be as simple as regularly checking the spray pattern of sprinklers to ensure water isn’t pouring down the sidewalks or hitting unintended areas. We also ensure the area around sprinkler heads are cleaned up regularly so the spray is properly distributed to the intended areas and not wasted when blocked by overgrown lawns or shrubs.

Sprinklers Upgrades

Upgrading your sprinklers can provide one of the biggest returns on your investment. Sprinkler technology has come a long way and now allows water to be distributed in a manner that prevents it from being carried away by wind, while providing a more uniform coverage to your landscape. Many sprinklers can also cover a greater distance, which translates into fewer sprinklers at any given property. They also require less water pressure and have a lower application rate which helps prevent run off in sloped areas and on tight soils.

This is one of the simplest upgrades because it works with your existing irrigation system and only requires minor modifications to be made, yet can reduce your irrigation usage by as much as 40%.

Controller Upgrades

The push for more efficient water usage has stemmed a variety of options in smart controllers. Smart controllers do more than just run the last programmed irrigation schedules. They adjust the irrigation schedules to account for environmental changes such as increased/decreased temperature, rain and wind. Smart controllers use sensors to detect changes, but can also use weather information from satellites to make adjustments.

Using only water when it is needed offers additional savings and reduces fungal diseases & insect problems that are often associated with overwatering. We can help you determine the best system for your needs and also find any rebates may be available to you from your local water agency.
